JOHANNESBURG – BMW South Africa has just removed the covers of an X3 Sports Activity Vehicle newly derived for 2021. The company calls it the Mzanzi Edition, as only in this case it was built in South Africa for South Africa.

BMW spokespersons say that while the X3 is perfectly capable and competent, the recently launched Mzanzi Edition goes even further with an added sense of dynamic flair.

ONLY ONE MODEL TO CHOOSE FROM

The BMW X3 Mzansi Edition is only available as an xDrive20d model, which means you get 140 kW of power and 400 Nm of torque. The engine is known for its mix of performance and economy. In combination with the standard eight-speed automatic transmission of the torque converter, it can bring the Mzanzi Edition from standstill to 100 km / h in 8 seconds (up to a top speed of 213 km / h). Expect less than 8 l / 100 km in a combined cycle.

SHARE SPRINKLED WITH BMW M

To distinguish the Mzanzi Edition from the standard xDrive20d model, BMW has equipped it with an M-specific body kit and M high-gloss Shadow Line kidney grilles. You also get BMW M carbon exterior mirror caps, Red M Sport brake calipers and a sporty rear wing with high-gloss black and black chrome tailpipe accents. They also put in a diffuser-style rear bumper, although this is for cosmetic purposes only as there is no aero underbody work here.

The recommended retail price for the BMW X3 xDrive20d Mzansi Edition is R 1 005 900 and comes with a maintenance plan for five years / 100,000 km.
