Buhari’s government would have completely destroyed Nigeria by 2023 – Northern Elders’ Forum
The Northern Elders Forum has advised the next political party to take over the helm of national affairs to prepare for a very difficult task of repairing the country.
According to the forum’s spokesman, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, the ruling All Progressive Congress of President Muhammadu Buhari would have completely destroyed Nigeria by 2023 with the growing insecurity and economic problems.
Baba-Ahmed stated this in an interview with Channels Television on Monday, blaming the country’s ruling elite for the country’s failure.
He said the country’s current challenges were due not only to banditry and kidnapping activities, but also to failure of the leadership.
He said, “What are you going to do with 2023 because between now and 2023 APC would have completely destroyed this country? You are going to take over a country that has been completely destroyed by a party essentially produced by the PDP, and how are you going to repair that country? What is your blueprint for what will happen to Nigeria in 2023? “
Nigeria has experienced a range of security threats in several parts of the country, including terrorism, banditry, militancy and sectarianism.
Terrorism has ravaged the country for more than 10 years – a threat that has killed over 36,000 people and left hundreds of thousands homeless in the northeast.
The Islamic State of the West African Province (ISWAP) split off from the Boko Haram jihadist group in 2016 and has since become a dominant threat in Nigeria. He attacks troops and bases and kills and kidnaps passengers at fake checkpoints.
On March 1, the insurgents destroyed a United Nations humanitarian site in the city of Dikwa after displacing troops, killing six civilians.
Nigeria’s jihadist violence has spread to neighboring Chad, Cameroon and Niger and has set up a regional military coalition to fight the insurgents.
