CRICKET: Victoria Pearls Head to Kenya for 4-Nation Series

Uganda National women’s cricket team (Victoria Pearls) on Sunday afternoon departed for four nation T20 series scheduled for 13th – 20th December in Kenya.

The squad of 14 players and 4 officials left the country thanks to Uganda Airlines who offered a generous discount on the airfare during their peak season.

Consy Aweko has been named the team captain.

Tanzania has been added to the T20 Series to be hosted by Kenya after becoming the powerhouse of women’s cricket in the region and will be a great test for Kenya and Uganda.

Tanzania won the annual Kwibuka tournament in Rwanda this year defeating both Uganda and Kenya in the tournament.

The tournament will feature Tanzania, Uganda, and Qatar and hosts Kenya, all the games will be played at the Gymkhana Club. Tanzania is ranked 16th in the world rankings with Uganda at 21st, Kenya 23rd, and Qatar at 45th.
