The African Football Federation (CAF) fined Egypt $ 2 million on Sunday for violating broadcast rights during qualifying for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
The Egyptian Football Association broadcast the match between Egypt and Ghana on October 15, 2013 in violation of the previously agreed television broadcasting conditions.
CAF’s letter to the Egyptian Federation on Sunday revealed that the fine will be cut off from EFA satellite returns for the upcoming qualifiers.
CAF denied EFA’s request to extend the deadline beyond December 31, 2014 to resolve the dispute with beinsports, the company that held broadcast rights.
