Egypt’s 2022 SDG index scored 68.7, positioning the country above the regional average, a step forward compared to the 2021 results, Cooperation Minister Rania Mashat tweeted.
Also in this regard, she noted that this global assessment indicates that Egypt is showing positive progress, especially in SDG 6, SDG 10, SDG 12, and SDG 13, adding the International Cooperation Ministry continues to push the global goals by engaging with all stakeholders to foster multilateralism and strengthen international partnerships.
According to the UN’s latest reports, Egypt was successful in reducing poverty which has been rising for almost 20 years with the help of better targeted social protection programs.
It’s worth mentioning that Egypt’s government in collaboration with UNFPA has produced localization reports for all Egyptian governorates which depict the current values and the targets of SDGs indicators in all governorates in order to target local developmental gaps.
