Egypt Raises Fuel Prices by 25 Piasters, Diesel Fixed

The Automatic Fuel Pricing Committee (FAPC) in Egypt decided, Friday morning, to increase the prices of gasoline by 25 piastres, and keep the prices of diesel fixed until next June.

In a statement, the committee announced fixing the selling price of all three types of gasoline products, noting that the new prices were applicable starting from 09:00 AM (Cairo time) on Friday.

The Current Prices:

EGP 7.50 per liter for 80-octane

EGP 8.75 per liter for 92-octane

EGP 9.75 per liter for 95-octane

EGP 6.75 per liter for diesel.

Moreover, the selling price of a ton of diesel increased by EGP 400 to settle at EGP 4,600 per ton, while the one supplied to electricity and energy production stood at its previous value (EGP 4,200).

The hike in fuel prices came in line with the repercussions of the Ukrainian-Russian war that began on 24 February.
