Female reality show debuts in Nigeria

See you Sunday Ani, Lagos

While the Big Brother Naija reality TV show comes to an end in early October, another show, the Miss Campus Naija reality TV show, goes on air on December 4th.

According to the show’s organizers, Kanaz Production Entertainment Limited, the Miss Campus Naija reality TV show would be different from the BBNaija or other reality shows in Nigeria in the sense that it is intended solely for female students in all colleges across Nigeria . In contrast to the traditional beauty pageant, in which the winners are determined by a jury, in this case the winner is determined by public opinion, which is expressed through voting.

This was announced by the chairman of the Kanaz Group, the parent company of Kanaz Production Entertainment Limited, Nnabueze Louis Kanife, on Friday at the unveiling of the program in the media. He said the show would celebrate and bring out the best of the beauty and intelligence of young girls on campus across Nigeria.

The three-month show is an offshoot of the company’s Campus Affairs TV show, which was launched in 2010. He promised that the show would be educational, informative and entertaining as it would be filled with cultures and traditional norms of different kinds of nationalities in Nigeria.

He said registration for the show was free and instructed all attendees to go online and register through www.campusaffairstv.com. On the show, he said, “It’s supposed to be a house of fame for our young students. It was designed to give them the best in life. It will give them a sense of belonging.

“As soon as it starts, each candidate represents a state. 37 participants from the 36 states of Nigeria and the federal capital territory of Abuja will compete for the main prize of N 50 million.

“After registering, participants start soliciting votes from their families, friends, loved ones, schoolmates and departments. There will be no physical audition; the audition takes place by voting. Once you have the highest votes, you will represent your state. ‘

Regarding the prizes to be won, he said, “The first prize of N 50 million will be divided into N 25 million SUV, N 5 million scholarship and N 5 million land with a C of O plus a monthly salary of N 300,000 throughout its term stay in school.

“The winner of the second prize goes home with N 20 million – N 5 million scholarships, N 5 million property with a C of O and a monthly salary of N 200,000 during her school stay.

“The winner of the third prize will receive N 10 million – a scholarship of N 5 million and a monthly salary of N 100,000 for the duration of her school attendance.”
