Four people, including a woman and three children, were killed in a tanker explosion in Nigeria’s Delta State, an official said.
Governor Ifeanyi Okowa said 11 more were badly burned when the tanker suddenly exploded while gasping at a station in the state’s Agbor area.
Nearby homes were damaged and several cars were destroyed as the fire continued, Okowa said.
The governor described the incident as “unfortunate” and said the burn rate among the victims was 80 to 90 percent.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the tanker explosion.
