“To be honest, it was an amazing feeling that I can’t explain,” said Omurwa goal On Sunday.

“The trainer [Jacob Ghost Mulee] named the grid before saying I would lead the team. He said he believed in me and all he wanted was a victory. I was overjoyed and nervous at the same time.

“However, I had to do my best not to let the coach down and winning really gave me the morale I needed. It’s a confidence boost for me because I have the feeling and experience of what is needed . ” “”

In the line-up of the senior team, Omurwa stands behind people like Joash Onyango, Brian Mandela and Joseph Okumu. The wazito player admitted that competition for a spot on the team is fierce, but if an opportunity presents itself, he won’t hesitate to take it.

“My position on the team is very competitive and all the players are experienced,” continued Omurwa.

“But if the coach decides to give me the chance to represent my country, I’ll do everything I can and do my best. It’s about hard work and persistence and when the time comes I will join the team.”

The Harambee Stars used the game to prepare for their upcoming Afcon qualifiers against Egypt and Togo.

After facing the Bright Stars, the Harambee Stars will face two other friendly matches against Tanzania. The first game will take place on Monday at Nyayo Stadium, the second on Thursday at Kasarani Stadium.

Kenya found themselves in a difficult position in qualifying for the African Cup of Nations after a 1-1 draw with the Comoros in Nairobi and a 2-1 defeat in Moroni in November.
