Union Berlin forward Taiwo Awoniyi has explained the difficulties he grew up with in Nigeria and how he eventually moved to Europe.
The 24-year-old Nigerian star is currently playing for the Bundesliga club after sealing a permanent transfer from Premier League club Liverpool in the summer window.
Awoniyi detailed how difficult it was for him to get money to buy game shoes and even get money to eat, and went on to say that he loves Nigeria as a country by saying, “I always go back because there is no place like home. “
“I’ve always said it was difficult to go into details but it was really difficult, let me put it this way,” Awoniyi told Bundesliga.com when asked about growing up in Nigeria.
