Kenya confirms 981 new COVID-19 cases


Kenya confirmed 981 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, compared with 991 reported a day earlier.

26 more COVID-19 patients died while 665 recovered, bringing the total number of cases to 148,128, including 2,420 deaths and 100,245 recoveries, according to the Department of Health.

Vaccination continues in the East African country as well, and a total of 569,244 people have been vaccinated with the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine.

“Of that number, 127,451 are health workers, 45,968 safety officers, 84,016 teachers and 311,809 other members of the public, including those aged 58 and over,” said a statement on Twitter.
