The Kenyan lionesses started their Madrid 7s campaign on a low after losing 43-0 to Russia in a Saturday afternoon game.

Russian Elena Zdrokova scored three goals in the first half before scoring a fourth goal in the second half to inspire the Asians to a massive opening win at the Madrid tournament.

The Russians started at a high point when Zdrokova provided their side with an early touchdown on the right corner.

They added one more try on the left corner and led the Russians 12-0.

Kenya’s first attempt to move forward was abandoned when their opponents stole an offload and Zdrokova was ready to complete their hat-trick as their side extended the lead to 19-0 towards the break.

In the second half, the Russians picked where they left Kenya to defend more.

Russia would score four more attempts when they gave Kenya a 43-0 loss in Spain.
