Kenya Trash Tanzania in the East African Parliamentary Games

Kenya’s Bunge FC trashed Tanzania 3-1 in the ongoing 12th Edition of the East African Parliamentary Games being held in Juba, South Sudan.

The Kenyan team went ahead in the opening 5 minutes as Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot latched on a neat through ball from Nyali MP Mohammed Ali to finish at the top left corner.

The goal managed to calm the nerves of Kenya, who had lost their first match to the hosts South Sudan.

It did not take long for Bunge FC to double their lead as roles were reversed and Senator Aaron turned into the provider who laid a perfect pass to MP Mohammed Ali to unleash a ferocious shot that the goalkeeper parried into the top right corner.

On resumption from the break, Tanzania exerted a lot of pressure and were rewarded in the 50th minute when Ali Simba converted a spot kick after a Tanzanian legislator was fouled in the box.

Kenya opted to soak in the pressure and hit the Tanzanians on the counter attack.

Indeed, the tactic paid off as just past the hour mark Martin Njuguna threaded a sumptuous through ball to Alfred Kisembe who had the easiest of task to slot it home for the third and final goal of the day.

This served as a perfect response to Kenya who lost to Tanzania in the final of the last edition that was held in Arusha, Tanzania last year.

Kenya prepare for their next match against Burundi on Monday.
