Kenya’s COVID-19 cases near 240,000

The Kenyan Ministry of Health announced on Saturday that it has registered 840 new coronavirus cases, bringing the country’s total to 239,692 cases.

1,237 people have recovered from the disease, 1,104 from Home Based and Isolation Care, while 133 are from various healthcare facilities across the country.

The total number of restores is now 227,274.

Unfortunately, 21 people succumbed to the disease. The total number of deaths from COVID-19 is now 4,778.

A total of 2,854,662 COVID-19 vaccines were administered nationwide, with 2,043,504 first doses and 811,158 second doses.

Kenya also received a donation of 55,000 AstraZeneca vaccine doses from the Republic of Latvia on Saturday.

The donation from Latvia increased the number of COVID-19 vaccine doses received in the country to 4,266,500.
