The number of COVID-19 vaccines administered in Kenya has reached 4,183,552, according to the latest data released by the Ministry of Health.

The ministry announced on Sunday that of those who received the vital vaccinations, 3,135,700 were partially vaccinated while 1,047,852 were fully vaccinated.

The East African country started its mass vaccination campaign in March to curb the further spread of the virus.

A slow arrival of vaccines hampered the nationwide exercise, but with more doses in the past month, the Ministry of Health is confident of meeting its vaccination goals.

The vaccines that have been used in Kenya so far are; Astrazeneca, Moderna, Johnson and Johnson, Sinopharm and Pfizer.

The country has so far reported 251,152 COVID-19 infections from a total of 2,606,152 tests conducted.

The number of virus-related deaths is currently 5,181.
