Local goods transport in Nigeria over 500% more expensive than in the USA – World Bank

The World Bank says it costs more to move goods locally in Nigeria than it does in the United States.

This disclosure was included in the World Bank’s newly published report on the Global Facility to Decarbonise Transport.

According to the report, reducing the cost of transporting goods by improving the efficiency of transport networks and services is vital to revitalizing world trade.

The report read in part: “Despite the increasing globalization of production and trade, the world is still far from being a single integrated economy. Landlocked developing countries, which make up about a fifth of the world’s nations, have higher transport costs than coastal countries. “
