“Morocco is an important country that can be a development reference for Kenya and all of Africa,” he stressed.
Odinga said he was also “impressed” with the Moroccan industrial sector, particularly the automotive sector, which will help accelerate intra-African trade and ensure African autonomy.
“I am impressed with the development of several industrial sectors in Morocco, especially the automotive sector, which will help Africa become independent,” said the AU High Representative.
The ODM President took this opportunity to call on Morocco to support Kenya in achieving its national development agenda (Building Bridges Initiative, BBI).
“Morocco has all the means to help Kenya achieve its national development agenda,” said Odinga, who also called on Moroccan public and private sector officials dealing with the blue economy, to encourage Kenya to develop a tourism and business sector help infrastructure in the Kisumu region near the Great Lakes ”.
He also noted that the OCP plays a key role in Kenya and the East Africa region, largely dependent on agriculture.
Morocco and Kenya will have a lot to gain for Odinga if they combine their efforts. “Kenya will serve as the hub for Morocco in East Africa, and Morocco will play the same role for Kenya in the Mediterranean and North Africa,” he said.
The Kenyan politician also called for partnerships between well-known Moroccan research institutes in Africa and Kenyan universities.
Regarding the Moroccan Sahara, Odinga assured that the United States’s recognition of the Moroccan Sahara will “change many things in Morocco’s favor as the Sahara could become an economic hub that will attract American and Gulf investment, a hub that is Africa will connect sub-Saharan Africa and Europe.
