NEC announces plans to critically review the security situation in Nigeria

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Abubakar Audi as the new General Commander of the Nigerian Security and Civil Protection Corps (NSCDC).

He replaces Abdullahi Muhammadu, who retired from the service after the end of his term of office as General Commander.

The President has also appointed Haliru Nababa as the new head of the Nigeria Correctional Service (former Nigerian Prison Service).

This was announced by Interior Minister Rauf Aregbesola, according to a statement by the Federal Ministry of the Interior’s press and public relations director, Mohammed Manga, on February 18.

The Interior Ministry’s statement said: “President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR has endorsed the appointment of Ahmed Abubakar Audi PhD, mni, as the new General Commander of the Nigerian Security and Civil Protection Corps (NSCDC) after Abdullahi’s retirement.” Gana Muhammadu.

In addition, President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Haliru Nababa mni as the new General Controller of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), subject to Senate approval under the provision of the new Law Establishing the Nigerian Correctional Service 2019.
