In a new twist, Big Brother Naija organizers announced today that season six will have two launch shows. The launch show begins on Saturday, July 24th and runs through Sunday, July 25th. To increase the tension, the organizers keep the new look of the house, the number of roommates and the seasonal theme a secret.
However, they announced that the roommates will be staying in the house for 72 days and, in compliance with Covid-19 safety guidelines, the roommates will not have any contact with anyone outside the home, as well as live shows without an audience.
In addition, there will be no SMS voting this season. Viewers can only vote via the DStv and GOtv apps and the website.
“Our main project is to give as many families as possible access to our content,” said Martin Mabutho’s Chief Customer Officer. “We asked ourselves whether we really need SMS voting instead of giving access to as many Africans as possible. We want people to be able to vote for the roommates as much as possible.”
Subscribers with a higher bouquet get more votes and Nigerians in the diaspora can also see the show on Showmax Pro.
Traditionally, two types of currencies will be introduced this season.
Speaking at the show’s premiere, John Ugbe, Chief Executive Officer of MultiChoice Nigeria said, “With every season of BBNaija we set ourselves the task of delivering great content that adds excitement and meets the entertainment needs of our customers for this sixth season draw we are doing all we can to offer our customers a never-before-seen show from Nigeria with consistent best practices in production under global health and safety standards. “
The 10-week reality TV show will follow the lives of strangers as they interact and compete with each other
to win the grand prize of N $ 90 million in prizes.
