  • Nigeria’s HRP in 2021 calls for $ 1 billion to provide life-saving aid to 6.4 million people in northeastern Adamawa, Borno and Yobe states.

  • The recent OAG attacks in Borno targeted humanitarian agencies and internally displaced persons, causing secondary displacement and disrupting relief operations. Meanwhile, the ongoing insecurity in northwestern Nigeria has created an urgent need for humanitarian aid.

  • Despite the challenges, USG partners continue to provide critical assistance to conflict-affected populations in northern Nigeria, including through USAID / BHA funding of nearly $ 112 million in fiscal 2021.
