Northeast Nigeria: COVID-19 Level of Entry Dashboard – Month-to-month Snapshot January 2021 – Nigeria
During the COVID-19 pandemic, IOM’s Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM), in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), is monitoring movements to and from the Nigerian states of Adamawa and Borno in the northeast zone. The assessments are carried out at entry points along the border with Cameroon.
From January 1 to January 31, 2021, 844 movements were observed at four entry points in the state of Borno. Of the total recorded movements, 499 came from the Far North region in Cameroon, 3 from the North region in Cameroon and 7 from N’djamena in the Republic of Chad.
In addition, 335 outbound movements were recorded from Borno state to the Far North region in Cameroon.
A range of data is collected during the assessments to better inform the nationality, gender, reason for moving, mode of transport and schedule of movement, as shown in Figures 1 to 4 below:
