The Labor Party candidate for the Idemili North and South Federal Constituency in Anambra State, Uche Okonkwo, has described Nigeria as a nation held down so miserably by her “unforgiving transaction” leaders, and only the youths can rescue and liberate it.
Okonkwo said every Nigerian that has desperately resolved to take back the country from the brink of collapse should look towards the direction of the Labor Party’s “wholesome” presidential ticket in 2023.
He stated this via a statement titled, ‘Obi’s running mate completes Labor Party’s ticket of recovery for Nigeria’, and made available to journalists on Monday.
He pointed out that the unveiling of Dr Yusuf Baba-Ahmed as Peter Obi’s running mate under the LP ticket has again spoken faithfully that Nigeria’s rescue is indeed a mission “POssible” and a vision fundamentally “YUSful”.
According to him, the ticket of Obi and Baba-Ahmed, meant that Nigerians will, for once, have a taste of leadership from the Aso Rock Villa, ever cooked on truth, trust, hope and faith, towards the critical turnaround that is now urgent and compulsory.
He said, “Nigerians desperate resolve to take back their country from the brink of collapse has received the most inspiring boost in the now settled Labor Party’s wholesome Presidential ticket.
“In fact, with the unveiling of Dr Yusuf Baba-Ahmed as his running mate, Peter Obi has again spoken faithfully that Nigeria’s rescue is indeed a mission ‘POssible’ and a vision fundamentally ‘YUSful’.
“A Nigeria held down so miserably by her unforgiving transaction leaders is a nation only her youths can rescue and liberate.
“For me in particular, this is like an answered prayer because the energy and enthusiasm of the youths are running on freely available ‘fuel of freedom’ as citizens that won’t need their festering subsidy of corruption to keep the momentum.”
According to the statement, Okonkwo was mobilized and adopted by the Youth Expressions for Service, a grassroots leadership initiative for Change and Impact, to run for the Federal House of Representatives in its constituency come 2023 elections.
He emphasized that such a generosity of thoughts by his people, was a welcome impetus to leverage the success of his youth empowerment foundation, ‘Let’s Get Empowered Today’, has so far recorded.
The statement read in part, “The ticket of Peter Obi and Senator Baba-Ahmed, we are confident and optimistic that with the torch of knowledge, capacity and passion so ably balanced upon these two greats, Nigerians will, for once, have a taste of leadership from Aso Rock, ever cooked on truth, trust, hope and faith, towards the critical turnaround that is now urgent and compulsory for Nigeria.
“Already, their ringing tunes of ‘moving this country from consumption to production’ to replacing those who have ‘privatized our profits but socialized our losses’ has set off a national movement of ‘YUSful OBIdients’, ready to take back a country so blessed , yet so tragically mismanaged.
“You can bet me on it that in Mr Peter Obi and Dr Yusuf Baba-Ahmed, the knowledge kit for the economic surgery we need to recover from brazen political impunities is so persuasively apparent, such that other aggrieved alternatives have become simply unnecessary.”
