Nigerian-UK based afro-fusion singer Oluyole Oluwaseun, known professionally as Sean Dampte, is keeping his promise and is currently touring some major Nigerian cities and other African countries.
According to the singer’s publicist, Alashi Eniola, better known as Chazy, the tour, which began late last year, took Sean Dampte and his team first to the capital, Abuja, then to Port Harcourt and Lagos.
Explaining the motive behind the tour, Alashi said it was about raising awareness of the Sean Dampte brand and his forthcoming album Hide Your Girls through organized meet-and-greet media rounds and performances.
He went on to explain that tour plans will be released as the team continue to meet to make bigger plans to build on last year’s success.
Dampte has headlined a number of shows during Detty December’s gigs, including Buju Live in Concert. One of the shows that went viral on the internet was when he and Seyi Vibez had a good time while the latter’s concert was taking place at the African Shrine, Ikeja, Lagos.
The Awoodah singer had released an extended playlist from the Awoodah series titled Baba Won, a body of work that would stand the test of time. Some of the songs that people love to hear on the EP are Pe Pe featuring Nigerian music star Buju; Allow me, with Seyi Vibez and Ojimo.
Given his performances over the past year, Sean Dampte will undoubtedly push boundaries this year if he doesn’t limit his game. With his protégé Khabir and top producer Joey Benks and Super HighBee teaming up with him, all under Savage Music Inc Nigeria, the Awoodah grandmaster released the first single of the year entitled Underrated on January 14th.
