Shaibu, Utomi and others are suggesting a new direction for Nigeria

Edo State Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu says the purpose of the leadership is to do the will of God by meeting public expectations, noting that Nigeria needs a new direction in order to thrive.

Speaking at the Forum of Catholic Politicians and Captains of Industry on Friday at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Benin Shaibu expressed the need for Catholics around the world to allow their faith to guide their actions.

Shaibu, vice chairman of the forum, said, “This forum is a wake up call to redefine the essence of leadership. The purpose of leadership is to do the will of God, and the only way to do the will of God is to do the will of the people and fulfill the public expectations in whatever leadership position we find ourselves.

“Politicians and business leaders of Catholic faith have come together to advocate a new direction for Nigeria in efforts to address the many socio-economic challenges the country faces.

“As Christians, we must strive every day to make a difference in every assignment that is assigned to us. We must learn to let our faith guide our actions. If belief guides our actions, we cannot go wrong, ”he added.

The forum’s chair, Professor Pat Utomi, also said the forum was created to bring together political and industry leaders to discuss important issues related to religion, public and business affairs.

According to Utomi, economics and politics are about serving the betterment of society, and notes that the forum would help promote true leadership, which is used as a push for values ​​in democracy, social engineering and the development of economic policy Will serve the common good.

Deputy Governor of Osun State, Dr. Benedict Alabi, Deputy Governor of Abia State Rt. Schatz. Oko Chuwkwu praised the initiative and said it would help promote a new order in the pursuit of good governance.

They argued that Nigerian youth needed to be productively engaged in businesses that would make their lives better, and those who were inactive should be trained so that they could become a asset to society and their neighborhood to contribute to the development of the nation.
