South Africa would use the BRICS Business Forum to showcase what the country has to offer, build confidence and attract investment, an official said Friday.
Busi Mabuza, chairman of the South African chapter of the BRICS Business Council, said the country wanted to use the opportunity offered by the BRICS Business Forum to identify new opportunities and opportunities in the regions.
“In an environment where global sentiment is pessimistic and the pause button is being pushed by many investors, we want to make sure the opportunities in BRICS stand out,” she said.
India will host the BRICS Business Forum virtually from August 16-18.
Mabuza said she will partner with industry captains from various sectors to attract investors into the country.
She stated that she wanted to identify challenges and opportunities in the forum in order to ensure stronger economic, trade and investment relations between the BRICS countries.
Mabuza expressed his confidence in the ability of the BRICS countries to promote the economic development of these countries.
“Our partners agree that there are opportunities in our economies to tap growth and enable development. We are convinced that we must massively mobilize all the resources available to us and accelerate the economic activities that bring the BRICS economies on the way to a sustainable recovery course, ”she said
