South Africa reports 56 more deaths related to COVID-19 – SABC News

South Africa registered 1,632 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hour cycle. This has brought the total number of infections in the country to 1,582,842.

The health department has also reported 56 new deaths related to COVID-19. That brings the total number of deaths to 54,406.

“Eastern Cape 12, Free State 20, Gauteng 11, KwaZulu Natal 2, Limpopo 6, Mpumalanga 0, Northwest 0, North Cape 3 and Western Cape 2,” said a statement from the department.

The recovery rates are 1 506 732, which corresponds to a recovery rate of 95%.

The number of healthcare workers vaccinated to date under the Sisonke Protocol is 318,670.
