There will be no Nigeria if Igbo is denied the presidential ticket in 2023 – warns Ohanaeze

By Steve Eye Aba

The youth wing of the Apex Igbo sociocultural body, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has carpeted the Senior Special Assistant to Media President Garba Shehu for saying that President Muhammadu Buhari is passionate about Nigerian unity.

Rather, the Ohanaeze Youth Council, OYC, alleged that Buhari’s actions and inaction pose a threat to Nigerian unity.

The National President of OYC, Igboayaka. O Igboayaka described President Buhari as “the direct opposite of Nigerian unity” in a press release.

Igboayaka declined a statement attributed to Garba that “Buhari is so passionate about Nigerian unity”, claiming that “Shehu has a paid job and one of the aides who is endangering Nigerian unity through his sycophantic service to the president. ”

According to him, Buhari “shared Nigeria more than any other president in Nigerian history”, calling him “the most tribalist president Nigeria has ever produced”.

The statement read: “President Buhari and his cabal have with ruthless devotion violated the federal principle of character and led Nigeria on the path of disintegration

“His arrogance with tribal impunity contributed to the current ethnic crisis that ravaged Nigeria.

“President Buhari has done literally everything to promote Nigeria’s disunity.

“What remains is Nigeria’s many countries explosion, which will soon occur if APC and PDP deny Ndigbo the opportunity to fly their flags during the 2023 presidential election.

“Given the insecurity and chaos waged by Buhari’s relatives, the activities of bandits, kidnappers and Fulani killers who suck the blood of innocent Nigerians on a daily basis, Buhari lacks the moral justification to claim he is passionate about Nigerian unity .

“In all the consequences there will be no Nigeria if the APC and PDP do not appoint an Igbo person as a presidential candidate in 2023.”
