WATCH: St. Aug Pitcher Kenya Huggins has a bright future on the mound

NEW ORLEANS – Last Thursday night, St. Hug’s Kenya Huggins threw 6 2/3 innings of knocked out baseball and hit 12 as the Purple Knights defeated the Jesuit.

Much was at stake for Kenya.

“We find we beat every team except the Jesuits from year one to last,” said Huggins.

Huggins also serves as the school’s batsman and plays third base, but his future lies on the hill.

Huggins is in the low 90s with his fastball. Head coach Barrett Rey said this 6’3 ″ can throw right harder.

Huggins kept throwing bees in his final season in amateur baseball.

Clarence Johns is his advisor, and sometime in July during or after the draft, the advisor, Kenya’s family, and the big right-handed man himself have to make the call.

We ask his head coach if he’s ever going to college.
