“We love you, however we love Chelsea much more” – Nigeria followers react to Lampard’s sacking

The Blues parted ways with the English manager on Monday after 18 months at the helm

Football enthusiasts in Nigeria have used social media to respond to Frank Lampard’s sacking as Chelsea manager.

Lampard, who returned to Stamford Bridge as manager in July 2019, was fired on Monday due to the club’s poor results in the Premier League.

Although Chelsea advanced after beating Luton Town 3-1 in the FA Cup on Sunday, the Blues are ninth in the English top stand with just two wins in their last eight league games.

Lampard’s sack came as no surprise to the Nigerians as they believe the club’s ambition is paramount, despite the fact that the club’s former captain needed more time to succeed.

I’m really sorry for Frank Lampard. He’ll still be a great coach. He needs more time.

I don’t feel sorry for Frank Lampard for making it worse as a player, playing a role in jeopardizing, frustrating and firing managers who function poorly. He’s lucky that he even had players and staff in the back room who respected him.

Chelsea fans are likely to have conversations about Tuchel (or whoever walks in) in 18 months, maybe sooner.

The club has to hold on to its weapons at some point.

Thank you Lampard, wish you the best of luck. My opinion, a good decision for everyone involved. The standards at @ChelseaFC are high and so it should be.

In the beginning he was spoiled
But poor results ensured that Chelsea’s growth was hampered
Even his most loyal fans have loved SCAMPERED ..

That is the story of Frank LAMPARD.

Has given Lampard my full support, especially after his first season at Chelsea, but with such enormous window spending, much more was expected of him. Pic.twitter.com/DXI2AJY0wT

Lampard needs to train a smaller club without pressure, play its exciting football and basically build its reputation as a coach

Poor Lampard.
I think every manager needs some time. He has good players. You just need time to gel. But I think Chelsea has no patience. I wish the next coach the best of luck. # EPL # GloryGloryManUnited # ChelseaFC

So sad for Lampard.
I wish you all the best in your future career as a manager.
Seriously, Chelsea have invested too much and cannot afford not to be in the top four.

For the first time, Roman Abramovich himself published a statement when he fired a coach
Frank Lampard is a real Chelsea legend @ChelseaFC
